If the DogeBags end up fucking with nearly everyone’s Social Security…they have not really thought this through.

This country is armed to the teeth, and if some of those armed, and crazy, people realize that YOU are one of the people directly responsible for fucking with their lifeline (we are not talking about some faceless, byzantine bureaucracy here, we are talking about idiot fElon, his DogeBags, and their asinine “move fast and break things” mentality), well…let’s just say it might end very badly.

All of these people, including the incel DogeBags, probably have a lot of security detail. But that security has to work 100% of the time. The crazies only need to be successful once…

You all dont get it, they’re not going to cut Social Security, they’re going to take a cut of it. It is no mistake that Musk is going after the actual payment system. He is going to try and force all government payments to individuals (and maybe all other payments too) onto X.

How long until Americans realize, and start to flee to Canada and Mexico. I’d advice those countries to prepare for millions of US refugees. Don’t forget to include a bible and a gun in every care package to make them feel at home. Trump takes care of the immigration problem by making the US the worst place to be.

Some people are fleeing. The RCMP has been detaining a lot of people who have fled or are helping to move people out of the US.

For me, six weeks to get a passport because I have citizenship rights. For my daughter (and wife still in the U.S.), it involves me finding a job that pays more than £28,000 a year.

I think so. As far as I understand, I just have to be in the country and prove I make at least that much a year or have that much in savings. But fully remote jobs are even harder to get.

I got to pick one where I can legally live, and one that isn’t going to force my daughter into a conversion therapy camp for being gay, which is what I am concerned with at the moment.

I’m not super full of national pride, but its not exactly a hell hole and on the plus side we’ve recently elected a party on the left while a good chunk of the other major European powers are shifting to the right. Need to get on top of this Reform nonsense, but I’m not seeing anyone rounding up LGBTQ folk.

Okay, where do you suggest I should have gone when I’m only a citizen of the US and the UK?

              Let’s hear your plan.

I didn’t know the UK was the only European country where people aren’t forced into conversion therapy. Also, I didn’t know the UK was the only country where an American can legally live. Should I be reporting all my American gay expat friends to the government now?

You clearly didn’t do your research when moving to Europe, and clearly have no clue on how other European countries are. The UK is not the most gay friendly of all European countries and finding work as an American is easy in many EU countries and can even have some massive tax benifits (20% tax reduction in NL for example). Many EU countries have fluent English speakers and loads of jobs where only English is no issue. While in the UK it’s going pretty fucked up since they left the EU. But at least their food can be of as poor quality as US food, so aclimating might be easier. Just be careful when getting sick, free healthcare could be a massive culture shock.

I’m a UK citizen. I was able to legally get to the UK by getting on a plane.

How would you suggest I emigrate to one of those European countries when I don’t even have a job?

Clearly I’m very stupid and you aren’t, so give me the plan.

There are agencies which help with expats finding a job and housing. Also schools for kids etc. I know it exists here in NL, but also in Norway, Germany and probably much more countries.

There are many job offers for expats. Many companies are scouting. Again, through expat agencies you can get easier access to these job offers, but not exclusively.

Why didn’t you say you’re a UK citizen? So you’re not a US citizen and you moved back to your country of origin? I can understand that, although I still would have checked other countries first since the current state of the UK isn’t that attractive right now.

As a UK citizen I think it’s even easier to live in an EU country then a US citizen.

And your plan is for me to contact an agency, but you don’t know what agency?

There are many job offers for expats.

                  Cool. Get me one.

As a UK citizen I think it’s even easier to live in an EU country then a US citizen.

                  Oh, you think so.

I asked you for a plan. You’ve given me a bunch of vague and unhelpful shit after admonishing me for doing my best.

          That’s half our plans right?

Resist and throw monkey wrenches as long as possible then gtfo and “overstay” your visa at the last moment. Obviously this is more difficult for some of us and some should plan an exit sooner, everyone needs to focus on their own threat model and plan accordingly.

Be an accomplice, not an ally.

The IRS is no threat to him personally, since the Republicans have ensured that it doesn’t have the funding to go after the BIG tax dodgers like himself.

As for the DHS, ICE SHOULD be a threat to him since he broke visa rules and as such is technically in the country illegally, but that would require for the law to apply to politically connected billionaires…

That’s the fun/infuriating part: due to a lack of funding, that’s already the case no matter who’s in charge of the IRS!

It’s much more expensive for the IRS to audit the big fish and, knowing that, the GOP have made sure that they’re underfunded enough that their billionaire overlords like Musk can cheat on their taxes with impunity and never get audited.

During a news conference Friday, President Trump said that Americans’ social security would remain undisturbed by DOGE. “Social Security will not be touched, it will only be strengthened,” he said.

you mean you’re going to uncap contributions and put a lower ceiling on what the most wealthy receive from it, while increasing benefits all around for everyone else??!?!?!?!!? wutuwaitinfor?

Well, first you need to be senile and profoundly moronic. Then you just say things you think people want to hear.
