If you’re hearing the outro, why not just go to the next thing?

And if that’s limited because Spotify sucks (I have never used it), then get a podcast app that’s not cancer. You don’t even need a subscription for those (unless they’re exclusive or something, in which case your taste is objectively bad, so have fun dealing with that).

I meant outro as the “going into commercial” bit. Sorry for the confusion, not sure what that’s supposed to be called. When it gets to the end I do move on to the next one.

I’ve never even heard of a commercial outro, but I’m guessing it’s just a podcast version of a TV show doing “well be back after these messages” kind of thing. I don’t know what that’s called either, but I know what you mean now. Thanks for the clarification.

I only listen to 2 podcasts for now. One doesn’t really do any ads (except for mentioning the podcast network they’re a part of, and sometimes the annual convention the network has, but so far nothing commercial I’ve noticed), and the other does have some ad breaks, but there isn’t any warning for when it’s coming. But in that case I’ve developed the 90 second skip strategy too. Or I would, but I do most of my podcasts while driving, so it’s unfortunately not a priority. I have a button on the steering wheel that works, and sometimes I can make use of it, but usually I’m paying attention to the road more than focusing on skipping the ad while making sure not to skip part of the show.
