Yup, Twitch isn’t making fast enough for Papa Bezos.

I do have to cynically laugh at this. It’s the “painful” decision for the executives who aren’t affected by their hundreds of thousands or millions per year. How painful do they think it is for the people that no longer have a job?
So tired of this crap. :-( Being in IT, management never has a f’ing clue, and yet are rarely held accountable from what I’ve seen.
That is like saying someone should use a tripod site instead of a giant react based monstrosity.
For very small scale streaming? Sure, self hosting is viable.
For even the streamers with order 100 concurrents on twitch or youtube? It is not viable in the slightest and would be a miserable experience for everyone. Or prohibitively expensive for the streamer.
Twitch/Amazon and Youtube/Google are increasingly looking for ways to make their platforms viable. Mixer/MS already bailed. And, unless they find a way, the internet as we know it will drastically change. Let alone if youtube itself gets locked down.
