What are people’s favourite skiing snacks?
What is the best balance of carbs, fat, and protein?
Any advice for staying hydrated without having to urinate too frequently?
Drink slower, steadily drinking around 200 ml of water every 15 minutes keeps you hydrated without your kidneys eliminating the water.
Dehydration results in concentrated urine, which can be irritating to the bladder and more frequent desire to urinate. To help dilute urine, it is important to stay hydrated throughout the day.
Avoid or limit foods or drinks that are irritating to the bladder. If you are unable to give them up completely, the following items should be used in moderation:
alcohol caffeine spicy foods chocolate citrus carbonated drinks
But is it really a day on the mountain without any of those things? I’d just stick to drinking water regularly to give your kidneys time to process it correctly.
Is this one day of skiing? If so don’t worry about macro balance so much. Get some granola bars, protein bars if you really want, whatever bar.
Yeah, just one day. Thanks! I’ll pack some bars.
This looks like Charlie’s “energy balls” from It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
I actually already bought some! Glad to hear that it is recommended!
I’ve recently started bringing canned Dolmas from Trader Joe’s out. Bag em in a ziploc instead of taking the whole can. Carbs and protein in bitesized morsels.
