Financial Times: “Russia intends to double the number of its troops stationed along its border with the Baltic states and Finland as it prepares for a potential military conflict with NATO within the next decade, according to Estonia’s foreign intelligence service.”
It would be a nightmare for whoever gets it, because it comes with people, and suddenly you have a new giant voting block who want to see your whole country become part of Russia.
So, in actuality, neither country wants Kaliningrad.
This is I think what Russians don’t understand about the insanity of their leaders suggesting “The West” would ever want to invade… That their land could be lost.
Healthy democratic nations would bend over backwards to avoid taking ownership of any land that comes with Russians. It just isn’t worth it.
Unless you deport them back to Russia en masse
That would be objectively evil.
