Everything will be consumed by the US election and whatever conflict arises as a result. This will result in the first organized broader scope violence since the 1860’s. I expect a Kennedy level conspiracy type event that will shape the next decade or more. Getting the guy out of office resulted in a failed coup, and the man is not in jail or dead. That alone shows that the country is dead in the water. This is like Brexit; fuck around and find out how much worse in can be. It was the same with Hitler. Inaction makes it worse because it emboldens monsters. Either way, now is the time to become a tin foil hat vender.

It will almost certainly be the worst year in recorded history. We have pretty much had non-stop record breaking temperatures since July last year.

A solar eclipse has been interpreted as a harbinger of doom since the dawn of time. The conspiracy theory is merely a modern evolution of this trend.

They happen about once every 18 months, and people seem to keep their cool about it. Last time we had one in the US the biggest news was that Trump stared directly at it without eye protection.

The pandemic, qanon, the big lie, probably a bunch of other things turned many somewhat normal people into science denialist conspiracy theorists, even people who weren’t traditional conservatives. If you are a science denialist you need something else to explain the world around you, conveniently there are many myths surrounding eclipses.

Damn. There was literally a partial (full? idk partial for me at least) eclipse in the US during Trump’s term, which is how we got that amazing image of that fucking loser staring straight at the sun. Why do these inbred fucks thing this is eclipse is any different than any other eclipse that has happened?

Unrelated question, does anyone know if eclipse glasses expire? I’ll search this on my own but was curious.

Thanks for that video, I’ll check my shit tomorrow to make sure they’re still good, that way I’ll still have a day to make one of those pinhole slit viewer things if they’re not. Also JESUS FUCKING CHRIST THAT LAST ECLIPSE WAS SEVEN YEARS AGO WHAT.

Don’t tell him that palm trees often bend at an angle towards each other and form an X shape. There are people who have a fear of the number 13 and it’s known as triskaidekaphobia. This person seems to have something similar but with the letter X.

Honestly, with Israel at war, I’m amazed we’re not seeing more crazy endtimes nonsense from the evangelicals than we already are. Probably it’s only because the description of the Antichrist in their Left Behind understanding of how it’s expected to go down reminds them a little too uncomfortably of the person currently dominating their voter demographic.

it’s already hard for Afghan, Syrian or Palestinian to get the refugee status.

Also, even though US has a lot of issue, it’s not like the rest of the west is doing that much better. In several European countries, far right parties are doing high score with the same kind of bullshit has US republicans, I’ve even saw a video of french “sovereign citizens interacting with the police recently”. The billionaire hoarding all the wealth isn’t only an US problem (Even though due to your *taxation is theft myth, it may be worse).

We tend to import all the bad stuff from US, but a decade latter :(

There is at least 2 eclipse per years, so I don’t see why this one would specifically generate conspiracy theories over all the others.

People will do prediction that will realize by default (Earthquake, people dying, and so on) and claim to have super power, same shit as usual
