I’ve not been a great place mentally the past two years because I’ve been plagued by a major spinal injury that’s caused one (and soon to be a second) surgery. I haven’t been able to lift weights or really do any type of major physical activity besides walking. I’m realizing what most guys feel like that don’t stay active and especially that don’t lift weights.

That being said, lift weights!!! There is something about being in physically strong that’ll make you feel happy and empowered.

The only thing keeping me going right now is the fact I will one day be recovered enough (after my second surgery here soon) to get back into hitting the weights.

      Vinyasa yoga

      Wow, thanks for sharing!

This is the first time I hear (or just remember) about a specific yoga routine!

Care to share pros and cons and why you stuck with Vinyasa yoga instead of other fitness disciplines?

A vinyasa is a smooth transition between asanas in flowing styles of modern yoga as exercise such as Vinyasa Krama Yoga and Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga, especially when movement is paired with the breath.

Commuting by bike, it isn’t much 5km each way but it adds up so I ride min 200 km/month.

I think that I average about 500km but this month I will probably have more than 1000 km.

physical: do yoga, walk amongst greenery, lift weights.

mental: play chess, solve cryptic crosswords, play all the puzzle games in simon tatham’s puzzle, journal every day, meditate, practice mindfulness, eschew the news, avoid online drama, delete social media.

i prefer hatha yoga personally (referring to the other comment on vinyasa) as holding the pose allows one to “meditate” somewhat while breathing in and out.
