Donald Trump has blamed Joe Biden and Kamala Harris for last month’s failed assassination attempt against him by accusing them of making it difficult for the Secret Service to protect him.

The Republican presidential nominee’s claim – for which he offered no evidence – was made on the television talkshow Dr Phil, hosted by Phil McGraw, on Tuesday. The remarks follow disclosures that several Secret Service agents from the Pittsburgh field office had been placed on administrative leave after the 13 July shooting.

At a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, last month, Trump was grazed on the ear by a bullet after a 20-year-old gunman opened fire from the roof of a nearby building. One rallygoer, Corey Comperatore, was killed and two others were seriously wounded. The gunman was shot dead by a Secret Service officer at the scene.

“When this happened, people would ask, whose fault is it?” Trump told McGraw. “I think to a certain extent it’s Biden’s fault and Harris’s fault. And I’m the opponent. They were weaponising government against me, they brought in the whole DoJ to try and get me, they weren’t too interested in my health and safety.

What’s not in good faith? Did any reputable news source call him an outright ring wing extremist?

He was a confirmed conservative Republican voter, so right-wibg on any account. And him trying to assassinate the president makes him extreme.

So he is a right wing extremist. Doesn’t matter what the media calls him. Fox News calls Trump Mr President when he clearly lost.

This is what arguing in bad faith looks like. If someone replies with sources, you will claim bias. Name a news source you consider to be unbiased.

Every news organization is biased. Unless you hear it from the horse’s mouth, it’s probably speculation. I don’t think it’s unreasonable to ask a person if they have any proof of this. Most people have no actual way to defend their opinions besides linking to another opinion—this includes me and you.

It’s also pretty unlikely that any real information would be released because of “national security.” Neither party wants people to side with him, because that might encourage copycats.

My guess is that he has no firm political party preference. I’m a registered democrat, but I’m hardly a fan of them. He was wearing a D/R shirt when he got shot. And as I’m sure you know, they are focused on giving power to the people, as opposed to a central government. Assassinating the leader of the central government is pretty on-brand. However, I’m sure the political ideologies of that group have probably shifted since 1820 😅

Do you have multiple independent and unbiased parties confirming the shirt he was wearing?

Were you there to see it? I wasn’t. We need to make sure we’re evaluating information using multiple sources of independent and unbiased information. The image could have been photoshopped.

Absolutely. And that’s why it’s important to view that shirt taken from multiple photographers. Ideally, ones that aren’t associated with a news organization. Additionally, wearing a shirt definitely doesn’t symbolize an association. If I were going to shoot up a Trump rally (I’m not going to) I would definitely be wearing a MAGA shirt—to fit in.

Thank you for agreeing with me.

I don’t really think it would be appropriate to find out who his friends were and call them up asking for an interview. I really don’t care that much, and that would be kinda creepy.
