I will never understand the appeal of Cody. I don’t find him particularly charismatic nor a great wrestler. Not bad by any means. Just not great.

I think the point is we just aren’t the target demo for him. While the adult male demo (hell even adult female demo) enjoying him is great, Cody is there for the youth.

It’s been a long while since WWE had a ‘Hogan’. We had a Hogan, a Stone Cold, a Rock, a Cena…a Cena, A Cena, A Cena, then we were supposed to get a Roman and plans had to change to bring us The Bloodline. So that was a long time without the kids having that ‘superhero’ to look up to in the same way.

I do find him charismatic but you can 100% tell he practices his shit in a mirror, but even so WWE needed that new big babyface for the kids and if there’s one thing Cody looks like to a kid it’s a goddamned superhero.

For us adults we just remember Stardust and Cody gimping himself out of the AEW title picture lol.

The most interest he got from me was when it seemed like he was going to turn heel in AEW, but then flip flopped on it for months before leaving.

This says December 2024. This is the December issue, and its on sale now. Do they realize it’s freakin September???

Never expect to see the magazine on newsstands now to have the current month. Don’t ask me why, I’m sure google has the answer somewhere as it’s long left my mind, but for my whole life just about every magazine I’ve ever gotten has been printed on the cover/in the small print inside as 1-3 months ahead of whatever the current month is.

      Edit: Fucking ADHD, sec -

      Cover Date Article on Wikipedia:

"In the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom, the standard practice is to display on magazine covers a date which is some weeks or months in the future from the publishing or release date. There are two reasons for this discrepancy: first, to allow magazines to continue appearing “current” to consumers even after they have been on sale for some time (since not all magazines will be sold immediately), and second, to inform newsstands when an unsold magazine can be removed from the stands and returned to the publishing company or be destroyed (in this case, the cover date is also the pull date).

Weeklies (such as Time and Newsweek) are generally dated a week ahead. Monthlies (such as National Geographic) are generally dated a half month ahead, and quarterlies are generally dated two or three months ahead.

In other countries, the cover date usually matches more closely the date of publication, and may indeed be identical where weekly magazines are concerned.

In all markets, it is rare for monthly magazines to indicate a particular day of the month: thus issues are dated May 2016, and so on, whereas weekly magazines may be dated 17 May 2016. "

Considering it’s print media, that’s even WORSE. Because I haven’t read this issue (or most other issues to be fair). However I assume if this magazine hit the news stands today, It would cover things that happened maybe 3-6 weeks ago. So you’re talking about the fallout from Summerslam, and maybe the build-up to All-out in Wembley. And it’s labeled as DECEMBER!!!

        Summerslam coverage…in December.

I mean, I know I’m Lost_My_Mind, but I’m not crazy on this one, right? That seems really weird, does it not?
