raising prices on their own ticket events while also making netflix more expensive is… one business stategy.
I can suggest a better one guys: The secret ingredient is crime.
Which is the wrong move. I recently saw that AEW is about to have their first show in Cleveland in 2 years.
I was excited until I saw the presale prices. $400ish dollars for floor, and $200ish for the 100 sections (the lowest sections that aren’t floor, and have permanent seats installed).
That’s insane. That explains why they’s selling 10k seat buildings with 800ish people in the building. I’d IMMEDIATELY buy tickets if I could get decent seats for $50ish.
Unless I see some crazy sale, I guess I’m not going. I paid 200ish for Summerslam, and got a decent seat. I’m not paying DOUBLE that for a random episode of Dynamite.
At least WWE has the popularity to get away with this I guess.
What WWE should do is be more of a global brand. Do a USA/Canada tour. Then maybe a few episodes of Raw come from various places in the UK. then maybe a few in France, then Germany. Then maybe go over to the Asian countries, head down to Australia. Circle back to africa, then south america, then Cuba/Puerto Rico/Mexico, and now you’re back to USA/Canada. So any WWE event might come through once every 2-3 years, and a PPV might come through once every 10 years.
THEN you could raise the shit out of prices. Plus, you could air the PPV at whatever local time, but Americans can watch it on demand on that new Netflix deal at anytime that’s convienent for them.
All of the AEW shows I’ve gone to are $50 for 200 level seats that are damn good for me!
This is me.
Maybe your arena is different, or maybe we just disagree on prices. I feel like the floor should be $100, and the 100s should be $70. The 200s should be like $20.
Then again, my arena holds 14k before floor. They’re selling lately between 500-2000 fans. The 200s will likely be just tarped off.
