I’ve only seen destruction like this once before, when I was in Biloxi, MS right after Katrina.

If anyone plans to make a donation, check and double check if you do it online, there are a lot of scammers coming out right now. I know for a lot of people the Church isn’t something they want any part of, but if you want to donate and have a Church nearby, they may be taking things like canned goods, bottled water, toiletries, or clothing to send to the states affected by this if you’d prefer that over cash. There may be other community groups doing similar.

As a side note, something you should put in your emergency kit is cash, and definitely have an emergency kit, our cashless society has been horrifically bad in this situation, the very few stores open in parts of GA and NC are cash only because these areas were blasted back to the early 1900s, no electricity, no running water, no cell or internet services to keep up with anything, only a couple of gas stations are even able to open and they have hours long waits for gas for the chainsaws and generators.
