I remember reading about a trend where unfunny and usually problematic comedians will dive into right wing politics, because they will always have a platform and an audience. Rob Schneider immediately comes to mind.

I was never a Rogan fan, but he has gone further and further right every time I hear him. He’s always had some weird ideas, but he was not like this back at the start of his standup career.

I can’t stand people defending Rohan bc “he brings on interesting guests ‘from both sides.’”

His overall theme is platforming ignorance and conspiracy.

Been saying this for years. Are we truly to believe that Rohan played no part in supplying Sauron with the black horses his army so coveted? Despite knowing full well the riches promised to Rohan by Sauron himself in exchange for quality horseflesh? I’m just saying it’s worth looking into further.

I love how by default it was like, “he brought Bernie on!” Motherfucker that was years ago. His right-wing hack friends are on regularly. It’s like saying Fox News is okay just for having Colmes back in the day.

The thing with Joe was that he originally was interested in talking about the marginalized people. Interesting people that have been cast aside. The thing he didn’t realize was that they had agendas and he’s not fucking smart enough to figure out what was going on.

He kept his mind so open that his brain fell out.

Eh. Rogans comedy has always been douchey bro humor. Super cringey from the start.

And this is coming from someone who was a fan of his MMA commentary and wanted to like his comedy.

Sure, douchey bro humor, but not overt right-wing shit, which is what he’s doing now. Just full-on MAGA stuff.

My favorite part of this is thinking about how much 2010 brand would have made fun of 2024 brand. I didn’t love 2010 brand, but I hope he realizes how much he would disappoint his past self.

You think his 2010 views were more authentic than his 2024 views? He’s always been a grifter, he’s just found a more lucrative market segment

I think he once believed in things and now lies for a living, less successfully than he has in the past.

He believed in attention for himself. He got that by grandstanding on white knight activism.

Whether or not he believed in his soapbox topics is unclear.

None of the upsides of a worldwide lurch into fascism is it makes it easier to see who had principles and who was just pretending. There are downsides, however.

Did Jordan Peterson move to Gotham and become even more villainous or something? Or what’s up with that suit?

It turns out Peterson has been wearing suits made for him by a company called LGFG. They made a dozen suits for him, one for each rule in his book 12 Rules For Life: An Antidote to Chaos. “The rules are printed on the back of this collar. This is a heaven and hell suit, it’s quite fun,” Peterson explained to Rogan. The colors were “magenta” and navy blue, one half made from sheep’s wool, the other from goat’s wool. On the inside of the jacket, the left featured clouds to represent heaven, while the right side featured fire for hell. The magenta color representing hell, Peterson joked was for “designer hell.”

Man, this really sucks. I’m not gonna lie, I really enjoyed russell brand for a time. I thought that his charismatic atheistic spiritualism was refreshing, in that he clearly was charismatic enough to start a cult, but instead chose to lambast religious institutions and their patriarchal structures of control. When I was still trying to get sober, my ex-wife even bought me his book on doing the twelve steps of AA without the interference of some deity, and it helped.

But I’m also intimately aware of how difficult it is to come forward with allegations of sexual abuse. People don’t understand the level of vitriol you receive when you come forward. So whenever there are THAT many people saying the same thing, you don’t have to wonder about their authenticity.

I’m just so disappointed in him. He is clearly well-versed in argument, and has convinced himself that through prostrating to a symbol of divinity he can regain his own feeling of self-worth, but he knows deep in his heart this is a lie. A comforting false-hood he clings to to help him sleep at night. He knows, as well as anybody who graduated AA, that it is only in acknowledging ones faults that you can atone for them. Death bed confessions and praying the rosary doesn’t help the victims, russell. Using people like they were inanimate sex objects fucks people up russell. You did that. You used your power and influence to abuse women for your own sexual gratification, and no amount of public (i.e. insincere) prayer is going to make it better.
