COREY GRAVES OFF TONIGHT’S WWE NXT

PWInsider.com has confirmed that Corey Graves will not be appearing on tonight’s edition of WWE NXT.
Graves was spotted this afternoon at the Orlando Airport, going through TSA to leave the city.
Last night, Graves tweeted, “Imagine chasing your dream. Then being TOLD (not deciding) that you’re no longer physically able to pursue your dream. Then you dedicate your life to something “dream adjacent” and being pretty fucking awesome at it. And then, when it’s time to enjoy the fruits of your labor, being told you’re not famous enough for your own job. Just in case you’ve wondered where I’ve been.”
As we reported at the time, there had been word within WWE for the last week that Graves wasn’t happy with being bumped off Raw and Smackdown for the NXT assignment, where he would be the third-man in the booth alongside Vic Joseph and Booker T. This morning, Graves tweeted again, trying to focus the energy he received overnight into interest into what he might say on NXT TV.
Instead, it appears he won’t be saying anything tonight.

This is what PWInsider founder, Dave Scherer had said earlier today:
I really have to wonder if he will even get the chance to appear tonight. It’s no secret that Graves hasn’t been happy backstage with his impending move to the utility role. WWE is in a precarious position. If they allow Corey to vent and act out, they risk allowing every other talent that is not happy with their role to do the same thing. That is NOT a good place to be.

Two possible outcomes I see here:
- He’s been secretly healing and redebuts as a nxt wrestler
- There’s no secret subtext and he’s getting screwed
The healing isn’t secret, he was cleared years ago.
You know what, fuck this, Corey Graves is one of the best they’ve had, do I like him 100% of the time, no, but he is my favorite in current WWE. I hate Booker T, I don’t like Pat’s over the top shit, either of them could go, but I could see replacing Booker as a slap to the face because CW and NXT are a step down from the Flagship programs.
Sadly, there just aren’t a lot of places outside WWE to work. Especially sucky situation if Carmella one day gets cleared and returns to the road, I imagine her contract has been frozen for these past couple of years.
EDIT: For clarification purposes, I dislike Booker T the announcer, I like Booker T the wrestler.
EDIT 2: The more I’m reading about this, the more I’m waffling between work and shoot. If he isn’t let go in the next few weeks, I’ll lean more heavily into work. Unless he shows up tonight proving it’s a work. My opinion still stands, they should put him back on commentary, I liked his pbp work with Wade.
