I’d love to propose something like aboves picture as new instance icon - to make it more “lemmy-like” Maybe not my exact picture, which I put quickly together in photoshop, but maybe someone could smooth it out or make something similar to this.

Server went down due to a database bug, thankfully it should be fixed in the next release: https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy/pull/3175

Every 3 or 4 hours the database is locking up, causing CPU usage on the server to jump to 100% and then everything stops working. I think the process causing this gets killed by the host platform which allows the site to come back online again, but can take up to 5 minutes. Frustratingly there isnt much I can do about it other than wait it our for the devs to fix it :(

Let me know what you think now the icon is up - once join-lemmy has updated too we should be able to see it there.

Thanks to you and obviously to @[email protected] for designing this!

If anyone fancies a stab at a banner image they’re more than welcome 🤣

I might have something there, which I built for myself years ago when I wanted to start a gaming youtube channel (still want to do it, but it’s always “next big game release I start” lmao)

And I am quite proud of this one, might well for a gaming focused instance:
      either this one

      or this one

I have the psd (photoshop files) for these here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1yBxVpure_bwY32FwnCyDuZa6ynxgoCJ1?usp=sharing so one could rather easily replace a game with another (or whatever you want to have shown on the puzzle tiles)

Thanks :) I like how much you can do with it. For example I made a version for my profile with the Lemmy.zip logo and the communities I moderate:
