Great idea, Cyrus and Joey Styles always played well off each other, and I loved him going at it with Gertner back in the day. It’s amazing that slime ball still plays basically the same character today and it works as well as it ever did, by far one of my favorite wrestling personalities.
Same, him playing the network exec on ECW on TNN was always one of my favourite “oh just punch him in the mouth” segments every week.
Also still sad Styles went down the shitterhole.
Whatever did happen with Styles? All I can find is he made a ‘grab her by the pussy’ joke. It’s definitely in bad taste, but there are plenty of people that have done and said way worse that are still in and around wrestling so it feels like I’m missing something.
The pussy joke iirc is what ended his wrestling career (and now also iirc he works at a pharma company), but I seem to recall he also later on made a series of right-wingish tweets. Lemme check…

Some (like me) are still pissy about his comments on Mike Awesome suggesting he should have killed himself for ‘betraying ECW’ (ya know, by not being paid by them and wanting to feed his family) and eventually did kill himself.
