It would be even more effective if it were a photo of the actual president doing it.

I am not hoping that it happens. But when it does happen, I hope the photographers have some good angles.

I have asked a similar question many times in the past when people excuse such things as jokes:

What is the effective difference between doing a Nazi salute like that “as a joke” and just doing one?

Same thing I ask when people claim they are being racist as a joke.

They’re lying. The joke is on you.

“Never believe that anti-Semites are completely unaware of the absurdity of their replies. They know that their remarks are frivolous, open to challenge. But they are amusing themselves, for it is their adversary who is obliged to use words responsibly, since he believes in words. The anti-Semites have the right to play. They even like to play with discourse for, by giving ridiculous reasons, they discredit the seriousness of their interlocutors. They delight in acting in bad faith, since they seek not to persuade by sound argument but to intimidate and disconcert. If you press them too closely, they will abruptly fall silent, loftily indicating by some phrase that the time for argument is past.”

50 years from now Mexico City will love to ride Teslas around the place. The US will make a movie about an enchanted Tesla called 8. Mexico will make their own called Ocho. Kids all over will grow up having their dads teach them how to do a full Tesla battery replacement. Dead batterys will litter every backyard. You’ll be able to just go to the local open market to buy replacement parts.

Meanwhile in the US, NASA will employ Ex X workers to build their first rocket to fly our first Astronauts. Our astronauts will be using very expensive pens, unlike the ruzzians who used to use pencils. And everyone will know this.

After the war is over Elon shoots his own head off and they make a movie about that too…many movies with different sad endings. Ruzzia would dedicated decades to making a Vladimir Godzilla movie and then the best radios there ever will be, followed by the best TV monitors and also small cute cars called Vlad Kei cars.

The US history books will tell us all how we finally beat Elon after he sunk a sub. The US public will then give the president full mandate to drop the bomb. All girls give up their pantyhose material… Somehow that’s very important for wars. And chickens.

Guys! I cracked the code! Its all happening again! Look for books called His Tory. I don’t know who’s Tory, but the one I found was in my basement. Its a little encoded but its all happening like the book predicted!

I mean I’m not into it, but I would also not call sex between anthropomorphic cartoon characters that take on the qualities of animals the same as animal sex. It’s basically mythical creature sex. I mean would it be animal sex if someone was into, for example, centaur sex? Because we’re essentially talking about creatures that look somewhat like the animals they are supposed to be, but more more like humans.

I have yet to see a rabbit or a mouse that look especially close to Bugs or Mickey.

Again, not my thing, but I wouldn’t classify it in the same category as bestiality and I would guess that a lot of people into that would not be into actual animal sex at all.

It’s not the same at all. A little human girl in a cartoon is still a little human girl. You show me one real mouse that looks like Mickey.

Again, is being into centaur sex being into bestiality? Or can we acknowledge the fact that fictional creatures are not the same as real ones?

People actually into bestiality help perpetuate animal cruelty. Lumping the people into anthropomorphic animal sex in cartoons into that group is really unfair and unkind to them just because you don’t approve of their specific kink.

I just love how this whole affair and people* using autism as an apology just makes it seem like autists are all braindead, naive and entirely unaware that the way we behave and ourselves communicates something about us. We might not always know just what it communicates or how we ought to behave to communicate, but I’m pretty sure it I did my best impression of some figure I adore, I’d do it in the full knowledge that it communicates “I like this figure and I wish to be like them”.

Look, my last comment left out the word “rich”, the original I replied to used it. As far as I’m concerned, any rich white South African from the apartheid era is sus as fucking fuck, at a bare minimum. Onus is on THEM to prove they aren’t monsters.

If that’s bigotry to you, you have a lot of growing up to do. This kind of nonsense purity testing is the reason the left remains a fucking meme.

ETA: Ah, you even put words in my mouth, “just like him”. Did I make such a claim? What I said in the first place is that growing up that way would definitely influence how someone sees the world. So the ridiculous hair-splitting you’re doing isn’t even close to accurate, you had to invent a comment I never made to throw your bad take at. Yikes.

stereotypes exist for a reason. they are observations made by society against society.

the only problem with them is when you apply stereotypes to individuals directly, then it’s prejudice.

calling rich white south Africans racist or Nazis holds true.

calling Jimbob a Nazi because he’s a rich white south African is prejudice.

now…calling him a Nazi after he heils in front of a camera makes him a proof of the stereotype.

I am! Because the fact that his family, the figures he looked up to, and he himself, all directly benefitted from the system of apartheid that was a specific integral part of the system in South Africa from which they derived their gains?

That is relevant in the same way that saying “he was born in Alabama in the 1850s, is the son of a slaveholding knight of the golden circle, and owns a lot of bedsheets with eyeholes cut in them” would be a valid set of concerns, all of which can be used as valid identifiers that, why, yes, these add together to paint a picture of the culture that this hypothetical man is most likely to espouse. So when he “accidentally” lights a cross on fire while holding a rope with a slipknot in his offhand, do we really think that the tied slipknot at the end of his rope is to lead cattle, or is it more likely that he intends to lynch someone?

You’re right! You know what I could have said instead?

Who could have guessed that the rich white South African would turn out to be a white supremacist?

See the flaw in using too few words?

Says someone who’s brain is rotten from the internet. “Nah miss me with those books fam, if you can’t say it in one sentence like a viral tweet then I simply can’t use my brain.”

Still not a fan of pizzacakecomics. The ones that are supposed to be funny aren’t, imho, and the political ones are way too heavy-handed for my taste.

I mean, don’t get me wrong, I agree with the content, but for a comic that’s on the reddit frontpage all the time it’s an incredibly crude way of getting the point across.

Pizzacakecomics is on the frontpage of reddit exactly because it’s heavy-handed and only mildly funny.

Okay, fair. I just wish I could escape them – which is rather hard if the people voting stuff to my Lemmy frontpage have just as poor taste as the average redditor.

i think it’s a fairly good satire of the situation… of course musk didn’t say he was a nazi, but he did give the contemporary neo-nazi salute of hitting his chest first… twice in a row, the same way….

and there’s actually an argument as to whether or not he meant it… even though it’s not ambiguous at all, and he’s had a history of promoting far-right content, the AfD, and his wealth originates in Apartheid South Africa and is obviously soak in blood….

it’s pretty absurd that anyone would deny it.

True, but then again it’s exactly what you’d expect from them these days. And even if it wasn’t – this comic is so darn plump I have a hard time seeing it as satire.

Plus, the creator drawing both caracters as ugly braindead idiots makes up half the ‘joke’ here. If ones satirical abilities are so non-existant they need to degrade the physical appearance of their opponents (however vile their views and actions may be) in their works, maybe it’s just time to give up and do something they don’t completely fail at.

          completely fail.

i wish i was completely failing at comics like that… i could handle that level of success.

i’m sorry you don’t like it, it’s a webcomic though, don’t lose any sleep over it.

He isn’t a nazi. He is a fucking loser. His kids, ex wives and girlfriends all hate him. He is clearly incompetent which is why Trump has just given him an unofficial agency to throw him a bone to get him to shut up, maybe giving him a crumb every so often. The only friends he can find now are the Hitler youth and I expect they will get bored of him soon too.
