Sorry for going AWOL folks. We got hit by a huge ice storm. Round midnight Saturday night power went out and my city declared a state of emergency, still waiting for shit to come up, no power, Internet, heat, hot water, had to toss out everything in the fridge, the whole 9 yards. My apartment is currently 17C/62F right now lmao.
Might take a few days to get back on, I’m leeching the Wi-Fi from the pharmacy across the street but it’s spotty so assume I won’t be here till I update further.
Update: power was restored just after 9am EDT, so we were without everything for 80 hours total.
I’ll catch up on things as the day goes on, we do have more freezing rain coming today/tonight (-____-;;) but it’s not supposed to be as bad as what we got this weekend so I might blip out again, I might not lol.
Oof, that’s rough. When I was growing up the remnants of a hurricane knocked out our power for a week once, but at least it was late summer/ early fall so, aside from being bored, it wasn’t too bad. Glad you’re back with us, and good luck with the next storm.
We had a big derecho a couple years ago which beat out the 1998 Ice Storm, and this ice storm according to HydroOne was worse (at least damage wise), and my wife grew up a good chunk of her youth in Mobile getting hurricane’s all the time so we’re both so over this lol.

Will feel better when the average temp in my apartment gets higher lmao. Gone up 3 degrees so far over the last 2h lol, can’t complain too much as 4-5 friends are still powerless and 1 a town over has her house right now 2 degrees above freezing with no end in sight.
I’ll keep the fort held down in the meantime. So just focus on getting you and yours taken care of.
