oh my gods i did not expect Detransion, Baby to be so unabashedly horny and raw. I read content warnings beforehand but I wasn’t expecting this
My mom read this 🥴
Is it like, not transphobic? Wanna know if it had a good influence on my mom wrt trans ppl
It’s pretty good so far; like the other commenter said, Torri Peters is trans herself. This really shows in the text imo as there’s too much intimate knowledge in regards to the thought processes and motivations of trans women when it comes to gender relations and relationships.
The CWs are mainly there for how graphic the book can be with violence, sex, and (trans)misogyny but at it’s core the book is a romance of sorts.
To me, so far, the book feels like as if I was reading a story that starts after what would be a bittersweet ending to a coming of age story. Like a “What happens next?” to a hypothetical trans romance that left you feeling hollow.
Oh, alright. I’ll get it for my trans friend’s birthday
is it sad?
Yeah I’d say it’s had a lot of sad parts so far. I haven’t gotten to the end yet so i can’t really say if it’s a happy/sad story overall tho
I thought it was good. There is some transphobia depicted in the book, but I felt like as a whole, it was sympathetic to trans people. For what it’s worth, the author is a trans woman.
lmao added to my reading list
